MFA LAUNCHES FREE EDUCATIONAL GUIDE ON THE INDUSTRY





The Media Federation of Australia (MFA) was formed in 1997 with an objective of supporting those Agencies that specialize in providing services such as media research, strategic planning, media negotiation and placement.
Today the MFA has 19 members that collectively represent 72% of all media billings placed by Media Agencies in Australia.

This website contains information that is aimed to assist existing MFA members as well as provide some valuable direction for students wishing to investigate a career path in Advertising Media.

2008 MEDIA FEDERATION AWARDS
The MFA Awards is now calling for entries for 2008. This year we have added a new NGen category in recognition of the ongoing youth initiative by the MFA. For details on this year’s judging criteria and categories, please see below.

MFA 2009 TRAINEE PROGRAM
The recruitment for the 2009 MFA trainee program will begin in June 2008.

The trainee program runs for 6 months with trainees being placed with one of the MFA’s member agencies. The program begins with a 2 day Introduction to Media Workshop to provide an overview of the media communications industry. Over the six months up to 20 media tours and workshops are organised.

Over the past few years 95% or more of our trainees have been offered permanent placements in the industry. So if you’re looking for a career in media communications, this is the program to get you into the industry.

Submissions for the 2009 Trainee Program open in June 2008, selections will be made in August and the program will commence in January 2009. Applications will close August 3rd, 2008. Click here to apply online.


AFA 2009 TRAINEE PROGRAM
The AFA Graduate Trainee Program is the only national and oldest training program in the advertising industry. Former graduates include the heads of many of Australia's largest agencies. Our Program offers the best & brightest 9-months of practical on-the-job training in areas like account management, planning, creative, digital and production. No other advertising trainee or cadet program offers the networking opportunities or the numbers - 47 this year and very probably more in 2009. MFA LAUNCHES ACCREDITATION PROGRAM
The MFA has launched an accreditation program aimed to encourage the educational sector to provide a comprehensive and relevant program to their students on the media communications industry. MFA accreditation offers students the benefit of a sound education on the industry and increases their opportunity for job placement. For more information please download this document

MFA LAUNCHES NGEN INITIATIVE
On February 28 NGen was launched offering a range of dynamic workshops, parties, award programs and the chance to be recognised in the industry. If you have under 5 years experience and work for an MFA member agency go to www.ngen.org.au and sign up now.
