A widely respected leader, Linda Wong is a passionate champion of our industry, who goes over and above to support and foster talent and make our industry the best place to work for everyone.
Linda has been an agent of change throughout her 30-plus- year career, which includes leadership of two media agencies at a time when female industry leaders were a rarity, a stint as a University Lecturer, ski-instructing in Canada and most recently championing the attraction and retention of the very best talent in our industry.
Linda has been an agent of change throughout her 30-plus- year career, which includes leadership of two media agencies at a time when female industry leaders were a rarity, a stint as a University Lecturer, ski-instructing in Canada and most recently championing the attraction and retention of the very best talent in our industry.
As the champion of industry talent, Linda works tirelessly promoting and coaching talent of all levels to succeed - including coaching and mentoring up-and-comers in new leadership roles through her stewardship of MFA 5+, the MFA DE&I Advisory Council and the MFA's e-Learning programs. As an early adopter of part-time, 'work from anywhere' and job-sharing she has helped many of those working in the industry to continue their careers. Linda is the driving force of the many industry people initiatives, and her commitment, tenacity, and achievements are incomparable. She channels her immense energy in promoting the participation and involvement of others and goes out of her way to ensure everyone shines and get the recognition they deserve.
There are very few people in our industry who haven't crossed paths with Linda. In her decade-plus with the MFA, she has spearheaded the development of the NGEN program, MFA 5+, MFA e-Learning, MFA Covid Support, and MFA reports and surveys among many other achievements. There is no one who epitomes industry pride more than Linda, so it is fitting that her most recent achievement is driving the development of our industry purpose 'We Are The Changers' to re-instil pride in our industry.
Jimmy Hyett, Founder & CEO of This is Flow, and an MFA Board director, has known Linda since he began his career as an NGENer.
He says: "Linda is truly our industry super-hero. A changer and inspirer, but without expectation for recognition. With passion, care, and love of our industry's people, Linda has left a major impact on many careers, including mine."From the early days with NGEN, working with Linda on the MFA5+ Committee, to becoming and mentor and now still having the privilege of working with Linda with the rest ofthe MFA Board, Linda's ever-present commitment and drive to continuously help our industry thrive have been steady and dependable."
Through the countless committees and many industry changes, Linda has been a significant figure in maintaining consistency and thoroughness, engaged teams, and driving initiatives that have not just helped the industry evolve, but improve it. Linda does it all, full of pride, passion and a humble approach that is absolutely so appreciated, and completely deserving of this incredible award."
Kerry Field, Chief Growth Officer at Mindshare, adds: "You'd be hard pressed to find anyone as selfless and committed to giving back to the industry as Linda. For the past 17 years she has continued to dedicate her career to creating change for our young talent. She is highly skilled at making things happen using her vast network, and the impact she has delivered through NGEN and MFA5+ is utterly remarkable. We are very lucky to have you, Linda!"
